Purple Launch Pad

In an attempt to keep cool we had a trip to the Yorkshire Arboretum. Plenty of shade and we were encouraged to see butterflies, Dragonflies and Damselflies in abundance.

It is good that they encourage meadow grasses and plants to grow around the base of the trees. They also cut grassy paths for visitors. However we did remark that we don’t come across many wandering too far from the cafe! Jet can be let off the lead further away from the centre although in the heat he is happy to plod along with us.

The purple of this iris caught my eye. The insects seemed to like it too.
