Gaeltacht 3
An executive decision was made fairly early this morning. The forecast was for 26C feeling like 29C (how does that work?) The thought of walking 23 kms (with a lot of up today) in this heat and hImself wisely decided to postpone the last leg of the walk! I too could muster up little enthusiasm for a day tootling hotly around the small and remote lanes near Newtonshandrum. We decided to tackle one last holy well on our way back. This was quite an experience. Just looking at the map we knew the roads would be tiny and that the well was at the end of civilization - the road stopped abruptly with just mountain beyond. The roads were even smaller than anticipated and currently being tarred so were full of colossal lorries and machinery! The well was found, a rather unthrilling dribble coming out of the bank but the scenery was stunning.
Later we stopped off at Gougane for a coffee and took in the drama. Beautiful.

And it's still roasting! The roads are melting, we're all looking pink and ice cream stocks are dangerously low!
