The Science Library

The beautiful UCSC Science Library is located amongst the redwoods. The contours of the building were determined by the trees on the site. A major renovation is underway that provides more study space for students but has resulted in removal of many books and journals. Some mourn the loss. Others claim that most material is now available online. Just one more controversy in this town.
