The sun is setting and the lake is colourwashed in aqua, pink and grey just before nightfall.
A very brisk frost this morning and a cloudless day which we spent taking a drive over to Whakatane to see an old friend who , like all of us, in her words “ are not getting any younger”. An enjoyable day catching up and reminiscing before returning to the lake and being treated to a delicious corned beef dinner next door with Tarawera Times , who with husband Ian, take off for 5 months in Europe again in just a few days. Their motor home awaits them in Lincolnshire as does the sunshine in France and Portugal.
