A taste of Spain...

... in DC! Today I was one of the photographers for the opening day of the annual Smithsonian Folklife festival.  Each year, it highlights two countries (and specific regions within them) and this year, the Catalonia area of Spain was one of them.  Needless to say I volunteered to cover that :)

It brought back fond memories of my recent trip and got me to practice my Spanish all day long (I apparently acquitted myself well on that front). 

There were many cultural activities to cover, but I loved these giants (the Geganters of Oliana and the Agrupació de Geganters).  Their stance in this pic seems a bit accusatory, looking straight at the Capitol, the home of our "little shop of horrors" (aka the US Congress...)
