Cottontail at Sandstone Ranch
I'm back on the internet now, staying with friends in Longmont, Colorado. The last few weeks I have been camping mostly in places with no mobile service, so keeping camera batteries charged, and the phone for when I can get the odd text out, has been the priority. I've done very little work on my photographs.
Longmont is fortunate to have a lot of open space for a relatively small city, and Sandstone Ranch is a neat spot with restored prairie that supports good bird life as well as a few mammals. All I saw this morning were a few cottontails, and a variety of the commoner birds, including just one wild turkey. About three years ago, there were barn owls nesting here, but they seem to have moved away somewhere else as they haven't been seen for the last few years.
