A Day At A Time.

Just In Time

Moonset behind Manilva. At last and in the nick of time, the bedroom window persiana has been fixed, so we can see the moon setting behind Manilva when we wake in the morning.

It has taken nearly two weeks and a lot of frustration, but it is done.

The landlord has an insurance policy. You ring a number, they make an appointment to send someone to repair the item. You have to buy the parts first (OK if you know what's broken, wouldn't work so well for a washing machine). You get three hours labour included in the policy and one call out per year.

Doesn't sound too good to me.

The repair man doesn't turn up. You ring again on a premium 900 number  and wait for ages to demand an explanation and another appointment. Only one of which you get. In a couple of days.

When you call again to check the man is going to make the appointment this time, you get the query, "What appointment?"

So you say forget it, call a bloke you know and the persiana is fixed the next day.

I'll just take the 60 euros off the rent. (And the parts came free!)

You have to love Spain!

On the plus side, I've just paid my overdue tax bill in double-quick time by popping into the local branch of the bank and handing over the small amount of cash. Bish, bash, bosh - sorted!
