Japanese Beetle
I never see these pests in our area, fortunately, unless I am out at Hughes Hollow, where I captured this. They have been a big problem in the eastern US since they were accidentally introduced from Japan in the early 1900's. I remember them being a problem in our yard when I was a kid and we lived in Massachusetts, but clearly they have been well-eradicated from our little bit of suburbia here in Maryland. Anyway, I liked the coppery and green iridescence. It's better in LARGE.
