In the war zone

Well, it's not really a war zone, but you get the picture.

When you fly across the world you find yourself over places you only ever hear about on the news, and it is quite an eye opener - especially when at the same time one is knocking back lashings of wine and listening to some banging music,

Listened to quite a bit of Michael Palin's Around the World in Eighty Days which Scobes very kindly let me have. Great listening when going global.

Also read quite a bit of Bill Bryson's book Down Under - very very funny, and the man's observations about all things Australian is so on the ball it is scary!

Anyway, the flight over was good fun and not long after this snap was taken, I was safe on the ground in Dubai and waiting for my next flight to Brisbane, via Singapore.
