Looking up to Winter Hill I was suddenly aware that there was a fire!  Apparently it was blazing yesterday too!  Everything is tinder dry!   This isn’t the fire that was on TV which are the other side of Manchester, on Saddleworth moors.  Here apparently they think it’s arson. It’s not the first time either, but this year there’s been so little rain!

Meanwhile the girls slept all night and woke in good time for breakfast.  Then Dad took Little Missy to nursery!  We have stayed in all day with Grandbaby with the highlight of the day playing with bubbles in the kitchen sink!  

Tonight friends are coming to dinner.  A minimum of cooking!  Pâté and Melba toast. I burnt the first batch!!  Chicken dish with mash and green beans and lemon meringue pie, ready-made!!

I've added two more of the fire!  One of the helicopter bringing water and one taken at nightfall of the fire moving forward.  On my computer you can just see the red flames at the front of the white plumes of smoke!
