On a hot sunny day of over 30 degrees let's walk part of the compostelle we say to ourselves, so we did for 8 miles along the Rhone to the village of Culoz at the foot of Le grand columbier (1525m). This was another of the tour de France 2017 climbs we didn't go up! It's amazing to belive that all these mountains are higher than Britain's highest Ben Nevis! Unfortunately we didn't come across a single shop to buy a drink from on route (typical France!). Culoz as a town was not worth the walk and is mostly industrial apart for an old part which we were too tired to appreciate pre-picnic - c'est la vie, I've burnt off my calories for today at least.

There are 4 French compostelle's that all join up to the start of the Spanish comino. Today's started in Geneva.
