Simply Me

Nightingale

A work trip today took me to Glasgow Royal Infirmary. I left the house at 6.40am and got home at 7.30. A long day! We're back tomorrow too.

In one of the corridors I spotted this statue if Florence Nightingale, the Lady of the Lamp.

She was a visionary health reformer, a campaigner and one of the most influential woman of the 19th Century.

She cared for thousands of soldiers in the Crimean war, established the first organised training school for nurses, made nursing a respectable profession for women and devoted her life campaigning for better healthcare and sanitation for all.

In other news, biscuit is doing much better today :)
