I live pretty close to Saddleworth Moor. The terrible fires haven't been on 'my side' of the moor thankfully but I have been able to smell the smoke at times. I drove over the tops today and the sight of the tower of smoke coming off Winter Hill was very shocking.

The fire crews and everybody battling these fires are doing an amazing job and with the wind picking up very strongly today, it must have been ever harder. We need rain to help put the fire out.

When I took this photo, I was probably about 30-40 miles away.
