Went for a morning wander around Mumbles, looked in some shops and stocked up on suncream. Walked to Bracelet Bay (the first tiny one around the headland) and had a coffee in the little cafe that we’ve been walking past all week. It was only average but the view improved it no end.
Down to the little beach for a splash in some rock pools and then back home to grab our stuff and head to Caswell again. I’ve never really had a holiday of doing pretty much the same thing every day, but it was so hot we just wanted to be in the sea constantly. The quick up-and-over route wanted us to go down a very steep winding road with no footpaths, so after seeing how cars were going down it we opted for the wooded version instead. Probably about 10 minutes longer but much nicer.
Another swim and another trip to the cafe for a sandwich the size of my head.
Out for dinner (four nights in a row, splash out), this time at Verdi’s on the promenade for pizza and wine. We sat inside thinking it might be slightly cooler but it was like a greenhouse - the sun set over Swansea Bay so the restaurant was still bathed in sunlight at 9pm.
