A lake of linseed

Linseed always looks like water from a distance but by mid afternoon all the petals have dropped from the day's flowers and the field turns a bright green again as if the linseed never happened.

Grandmother duty all day today while K was at work.  A popped over for a cup of tea during the afternoon which broke up the day and we sat outside with baby I in the shade as the house was so hot inside.

Extra photo:  There are fewer swallows around this year.  Not sure whether this is a young one.
