It's been a good year for the roses.
We have spent so much time at the new house that the garden here has had to fend for itself more than usual. But it is blooming all over. It was another hot and sticky day in the high 30's. We did gardening in the morning and took all the hedge clippings to the dump in the afternoon. In France we call the council tip the "dechetterie". A long gone friend whose French was very colloquial always called it the "shitterie". We had lunch with Peter, Janice and Stewart. We ate inside, as it was too hot to be out, and Stewart slept through the whole thing!
