Heading to the Skies
I didn't have much time today as the afternoon would be taken up with rehearsals for our choir concert tonight (over 700 years of music in one evening - gulp!). So it was a quick jaunt round the estate (all right then, 30ft garden) in search of images.
I inherited this rambling rose, along with a cherry tree, with the house some 20-odd years ago, and originally diligently pruned it back each year to contain it on the wall. In the last few years my time and enthusiasm for the garden has taken a back seat, and the rose is now rambling throughout the cherry tree. Since the birds pinch what cherries it produces, instead I enjoy the cherry blossom in Spring and the wonderful display from the rose throughout Summer, especially against the blue skies we are currently enjoying!
