Rose of Sharon

or Hypericum to give it its Sunday name :-)

Another glorious day, a few whispy clouds, in addition to all the smoke over Winter Hill :-/
felt a bit humid this afternoon too!

We had a walk early, then back home to spend the rest of the day doing not a lot, just pottering. Hub picked about 3lb of redcurrants, 1.5lbs of blackcurrants, some loganberries, strawberries and the first of the gooseberries!

I spent a good hour or more topping and tailing all the currants, resulting in three large jars of black/redcurrant jam.

We decided to have a BBQ for 2 this evening, so rather than get the big Bbq out, we bought a disposable one, it was really good, having been quite skeptical about it! We had a burger, sausage and chicken thigh each, with salad, fried onions, bread rolls.....was good, but oh so stuffed now :-/

Hub is just makinng me a G&T, which I am sure I will be able to find room for ;-))

Had to do some watering this evening, the garden is really struggling.....filled up all the bird feeders, the birdbath and the little plate I fill for the small birds on the ground.

Todays blip our rose of sharon that is in partial shade, so seems relatively happy beside the arbour at the bottom of the garden.
