Ooh Sandy Baby

Well, it was quite the night. The electricity went off around 8.30pm and then the lashing rains started. The streets were just emergency vehicles dashing around as the curfew was installed at sunset.
Then there were a series of bright green flashes as the sky lit up. This is my attempt to catch one on the horizon. One after another for an hour or more these flashes went off. They were each of the electricity substations shorting and blowing up as the water or a fallen tree hit them.
It was a long night, but the people were amazing. We were on the 9th floor so it was a lot of stairs to climb up and down. After a review of what could happen (meeting cancelled of course) and offering uselessly to help we decided to hit the road and head through the snow storm to the west.
