This statue in Knott End commemorates the life and works of L.S Lowry.  Lowry’s painting ‘The Jetty at Knott End’ shows the ferry and the view across the estuary.

I should have got the ferry in today’s shot, but by the time I decided to take it,  the last ferry had been and gone.
