A pretty copse but .....

…….It is Hangmans Corner where the name says it all.  I have mentioned about my family's hall before and an earlier owner was John Peck who amongst other jobs was the chief constable - part of that job was to witness hangings and in his diaries he wrote that he did not agree with hanging two men but it was what he had to do ( I recall it was for stealing chickens if memory serves me right).
