Person Club

Today saw the launch of a new animated film and sing along for primary school children called 'Memories' as part of the Person Club scheme. It was produced by Calico Creative, part of a not for profit social enterprise connected with Calico Enterprise based in Burnley. Kelly Fort from Calico Creative worked with lots of different community groups to produce the film, with media professionals and local young people involved in the brainstorming, script writing, character design, sound collecting, and even singing the theme tune.

The film is about Rememberance Day, and it was shown at St Leonards school in Padiham as part of a special assembly. Some of the people involved in creating the film were there, and were presented with DVDs and certificates by Kelly and Helen Amess from the BBC outreach team. We've been filming the process throughout the making of the film, and today we documented the assembly and got some feedback from the participants. The young people we chatted to said they had enjoyed their experience, and were proud to have been part of the project.
