Bubsy’s big night

This little guy went potty in the toilet for the first time tonight. The most amazing part is that he took it upon himself to initiate the whole process. He walked into the bathroom, attempted to take off his own diaper (I ended up doing that part), scooched the stool over to the potty, got up, sat down and peed. Amazing!!
Here’s what I learned after potty training Nug Bug-wait until they’re ready. We learned that the hard way together. I ended up stopping the whole process and waiting about six more months with her until I realized she was actually ready to learn. She was almost 3 1/2 at the time, but I guarantee you that no one cares when you get to high school how old you were when you learned how to use the potty. Your kids, however, will care that you listened to what they needed and trusted their tiny bodies to guide you in the process. I’m grateful today that I can learn from my parenting mistakes and grow with my children. They’re teaching me so much every day.
