This heron was standing very close to the pond's edge....still and silent and patiently waiting for breakfast.  They really are rather elegant to watch and sometimes very gangly too as they stretch their necks out getting ready to strike.They are swift and in a flash can catch fish and frogs and gulp them down!  
   After a nice time watching wildlife it was on to an oppostie environment...that of the Costco scene to get my new glasses tinkered with.  Thank you for stopping by to visit yesterday's red wing and today's heron!
