Cherries

The Yakima Valley, where we are now, is justifiably famous for its delicious cherries. It is something we took for granted during the time we lived there - this time of year fruit stands sell them by the bushel and at quite reasonable prices. Since moving to Mexico, however, the price and quality have kept us from enjoying one of our favorite fruits. These beauties were growing on a tree in our friend’s side yard. I think they are pie cherries, not the more edible Bing or Rainier varieties, but they did make for a nice photo if not a tasty snack.
