Misery Memoirs

Well, here's some reading to cheer me up!

This is only a small part of the selection on offer, Burnt, raped, sold....

I'm not claiming never to have read a misery memoir... Angela's Ashes, (Frank McCourt), that was very good in a harrowing sort of way, Bad Blood by Lorna Sage, I think she got off lightly if you compare her childhood to some of the stuff on offer here,

but I have never seen it all displayed together like this, (Mills and Boon were to the left, and Jeremy Clarkson had his own shelf lower down.)

I bought a packet of balloons instead!
