Weeping Window Poppies.
Wednesday fell on a Tuesday this week! Wednesday is the day we generally go off somewhere with Kanyl. Clickychick is busy tomorrow so we went up to Carlisle. We have been promising ourselves for a while a visit to the Carlisle display of the Weeping Window. This is the next to the last stop in its nation wide tour. Next stop Stoke on Trent where the poppies were made, then a permanent home at the imperial war museum.
The display is impressive what it must have been like with all the poppies at the Tower of London I suspect would have been best described as staggering. If you are within striking distance of Carlisle and haven't seen it it is well worth a visit. Unfortunately you only have until the 8th.
It is possible to go up to the walk way where you can see the vegetation but you must be able to climb some steep steps and then circumnavigate the castle to get to the poppies which are only 4 or 5 yards from you when you reach the top of the stairs. So no go for the disabled or those who can't walk far.
