Lucky
I picked this little fella up at a shrine in Japan. He's known as a Daruma doll. You see them all over Japan in various sizes and guises. Mine had a little paper fortune tucked inside. The tradition when you get these in temples is to leave any bad fortune behind, tied to a wire, so that it stays there. Luckily my fortune was good, so it came home with me.
Often Daruma dolls have one eye painted in and the other left blank. The idea is that he should bring good fortune and if this happens, you paint the other eye in when this happens. I feel very fortunate to have been on such an amazing trip.
