Concert in the park
Tuesday
We spent a tortuous afternoon watching England vs Columbia - but at least the end result was right! I should have been so angry if Columbia had won, given the way they played. Then we just had time to fit in a workout at the gym before going out to the Concert by Blue Ash and Montgomery Symphony Orchestra at Montgomery Park this evening, on the eve of July 4th, Independence Day. The weather was a little bit “iffy”, so we took our umbrellas along, and we did use them at one point in the first half, but fortunately it didn’t come to much, and it was still warm. The theme for the evening was the 60’s, with music by Burt Bacharach, Henry Mancini, the Beatles, the Beachboys (during which they passed out mini beach balls, which was fun for the kids), James Bond movies, amongst others. An enjoyable evening - except for somebody behind us who was listening to baseball commentary on his phone!
