A beautiful thing

It's not often I have a genuine Victorian toilet bowl in my front room.

Friends of OGH bought this at auction this week, and it's going to be installed in the House.  The one thing we didn't have was a toilet - and this one is the first seen at auction for more than 20 years.  So excited to have it.

It predates the chain action cistern, and is meant to sit in a wooden bench.  The flush is regulated by a pump action arm, which you use to build up pressure for a flush. 

Personally I think it's way too pretty to pee in, but maybe that's just me.
