Emperor

You can't see too many Purple Emperors. This one was in Botany Bay woods (Surrey) and I very nearly stepped on it in my pursuit of a Brown Hawker dragonfly, one of the few dragonflies that I've never managed to photograph. Having spotted the emperor I lost the hawker.
