Apparently back in the knights and shining armour days, these pools were stocked with fish for the local nobs. It seems that they did not like fish fingers.

In other exciting news...

I was teaching a lesson on components of fitness today. We were playing Basketball and trying to indentify components of fitness relevant to the sport which began with the letters A (agility) B (balance) and C (co-ordination)

We were struggling on the C. The students discussed it in pairs. One pair were confident they had the right answer...

COMPOST - he said!!!!

He saw me looking puzzled, to be honest I was wondering how brown smelly stuff would help me play basketball.

You know compost, like when you are trying to be focussed and concentrate.

The penny dropped, he meant composure - which was still wrong!
