Today's the day ………………………….. when it was just too  hot

There was the slimmest of chances that today there might be a bit of cloud about - which would keep temperatures down a little.  Well there wasn't.

It was SO hot that it wasn't pleasant to sit outside - even in the shade of the umbrella.  The outside thermometer at our front door recorded a maximum temperature of 33.6°C.  That's too hot for me.

I don't know how the poor plants are coping.  We do our best to water (without using the hosepipe) but most of the ones in our garden were chosen because they didn't mind copious amounts of rain and low temperatures - which is what we usually have in the summer.

I don't want to be an old moaner - but honestly - it was just too  hot today ………………………
