Fireworks....

....that almost weren't! Went to the parade this morning which was fun, then walked over to the park with Jennie and Mae, as there was face painting for the kids, free ice cream, etc., so Mae had a lovely time running around. We planned on going to the fireworks tonight, which were supposed to start at 9:15, but around 7:00 it started raining really hard, with thunder and lightening. Checked the weather app and it said the storm should move out over the Lake by 8:30 or so, which it did, but it was still lightening out over the Lake, so the fireworks were delayed until just after 9:30. This is the first year that there were so few people there, but I think many people stayed home, thinking they'd been cancelled. They weren't set off as quickly as usual--a bit of time between each one, so maybe it had something to do with everything being wet, but they were enjoyable & Mae, in spite of it being well beyond her bedtime, thought they were great, but was ready to go to bed as soon as we'd walked home. :))
