Emperor Dragon

Getting into the wood at eight o'clock which I thought was a reasonable hour I walked to the pond only to find someone in 'my spot' who knowledgeably informed me I was rather late! The hairstreaks had been up hours!  Flying round like they were on drugs in the heat and then just disappearing into the ether proved his point. 

However there was so much there that it really didn't matter a jot about the hairstreaks and as an added bonus bumped into JDO...yet again :)

This Emperor dragon glided over to settle on a thistle; it's a hawker which means it stays on the wing for long periods patrolling and hunting so I was lucky here.
