Dippy Day

Igor wanted to go and see Dippy the Dinosaur while he was on tour. Birmingham was the most convenient place for us to go and see him.

Dippy is the iconic diplodocus from the big hall in the Natural History Museum in London. Last year a skeleton of a blue whale replaced Dippy and he was dispatched round the country to reach a wider audience before eventually returning home to a new position outside the front of the Natural History Museum. The tour ends in 2020. Google will tell you the other places he plans to visit.

Igor mentioned our planned ‘Dippy’ visit to Hildasrose and in the blink of an eye it became a blipmeet. Terrifo, SueJay50, MeeshJ, Igor, Chanter63, Hildasrose and SHH and myself met this morning and had a lovely time looking at Dippy and the rest of the exhibition. Many blips were taken. Loosecanon and Technophobe joined us for lunch after the Museum visit. Lunch was followed by a lovely walk along the canal and through the city centre looking at all the development work going on. It was a beautifully hot and sunny day so the new buildings and their reflections looked wonderful (extras and the blips of those mentioned above).

A very hot and bothered group of blippers ended up in John Lewis to partake of the customary tea and cake before going our separate ways home.
