Wow.

This may be the strangest World Cup ever. My boys left Germany today, just in time to miss it all fall apart. There seems to be a strange ‘Stars in their eyes’ vibe about it; Germany come out and say “tonight Matthew we will be England” and then proceed to do the most England thing possible, pitching themselves out of a tournament they had dragged themselves heroically back into by losing when it seemed impossible.

What we need now is for England to start channeling Brazil.
