Mortality
This afternoon I have just spent an hour or so (as I do every couple of months), doing a round of our road boundary and garden with a very large sack and gardening gloves and long-handled sharp -pronged gardening fork.
We live on the corner of 2 busy roads in a rural area on 2 and a half acres.
It seems there are some individuals who just live in the moment (like blowflies) and without thought toss their rubbish from their vehicles when they have finished with them. What you can see here gathers on our roadside boundary and the lighter things blow in through the garden. It all looks unsightly of course and pollutes our environment. It took some months for a dead dog to rot in its plastic bag a couple of years ago.
With so much more informative footage on our televisions etc these days it would seem obvious that all these toxic bits and pieces do not just magically disappear. I just can't help thinking of the river and lake fish, seabirds and marine mammals etc who suffer slow painful deaths .
Forgive me, but I just can't help thinking that the same end of life story without benefit of effective analgesia might be what these mind-free individuals have earned for themselves.
