"You won't feel a thing...."

Dad placed the wedding ring onto Mum's finger on 20th March 1948 and it has never been off since. Today the ring was cut off at the local jeweller's shop because Mum has a swollen joint just above the ring. It is so swollen that the ring could never be brought over it.

She was very philosophical about it, but it is a major life event.

We bought more fruit - how do we eat it all? - and made a return at M & S. Then we had lunch at home and allowed the tennis players to entertain us this afternoon.

Margret (next door) saw one in her garden this morning and the cat went through the fence to Dick and Susan's garden. No sign at home today.
