The man with a new knee

Worked today, then volleyball taxi for B and brownie run for H, then went to visit my father in law tonight in the hospital. He's recovering well from his operation, and his leg now looks amazingly straight compared to his other one, which will also be replaced at the earliest opportunity. He's up and walking around on crutches, but will probably be in hospital until sunday, when the physio is happier he can manage the stairs. Quite a surprising recovery really, and helped along by some strong pain killers. He just went down for his x-ray, and was more worried by the speed my husband was going to push him in his wheelchair on the way back. The porter that wheeled him down said he used a pedometer once and found he'd walked 19 miles in a shift!

Saw this dog outside the hospital, we think it's cast metal, but it was pitch black and the rain was so heavy we didn't stop to find out!
