Nesting

Well, there they are. Parent, I'm presuming mum, and youngster. Youngster is very persistent, very loud and whines a lot.

A parent magpie was wandering over my lawn, as it does several times every day, but youngster started the whine - a rapid almost knocking noise. Parent stopped, looked up then flew off in the direction of the noise. So now even I can identify when youngster is in trouble or just winding-up a parent for attention!
