Suffragette at Temple Newsam
Representing Leeds suffragette Leonora Cohen at the Time travellers event.
Minor football and tennis matches elsewhere meant Temple Newsam was surprisingly quiet, so I had a natter with Leonora about how things have changed over the last 100 years, had a discussion with Lord Halifax (1st Earl of Halifax) who effectively declined the position of Prime Minister in favour of wartime leader, Winston Churchill. Fortunate to have Mary Queen of Scots and her maid pose and for good measure Catherine of Arogon. A sighting of Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth as well as listening to the Tudor minstrels in the gallery.
A strangely quiet day, visitor wise but that gave more opportunity to talk to the characters and learn some of the oddities of the building from the butler.
Extras Mary, Queen of Scots and her maid, Catherine of Arogon (she told me that the headdress is of the correct period but the dress is somewhat later)
And just for good measure, 75078 on the KWVR was flying the flag!
