Silly Saturday: Odd Shop!

We've heard of post offices being incorporated into stationery shops before but this one has often amused us as we've driven through Whaley Bridge on the way from Newcastle upon Tyne to Macclesfield. We reckon it's a weird and rather silly combination of functions!

We've often thought of blipping it but have waited to do so until we were passing it on a Saturday, so as to tag it for Silly Saturday.

A few miles further on along our route we passed something else very silly - sadly there was nowhere safe to stop for a photo. We're in the midst of a major heatwave with temperatures in the mid to high 20s (C), and yet we passed a road sign with a snowflake icon on it - ie a warning sign for ice! (And no, it wasn't an advance sign for a shop selling frozen treats.)

If you think we're making the Newcastle/Cheshire journey rather frequently at the moment, you're right: hopefully before long the journey won't be needed quite so often, once the sale of Mum-in-Law's home is complete and once her move to a different care home is over.
