I drove my tractor past your window last night . .
A much cooler and cloudier start to the day. The tractors were out in force and have obviously come from all over to one of the regular rallies, though several early Argyll registrations were in evidence.
We spent the day fern hunting, which was rather hard on the joints - especially as my friend Tim had a new knee very recently. The sun broke through at lunchtime and it got a lot hotter, but in general the weather seems (!) to be cooling down a little. While in the woods the sound of a hooter was heard and I scrambled down to the shore just in time to catch the 'Waverley' on her passage up the East Kyle of Bute - see extra.
When most of the group had gone back to the mainland via the Rothesay-Wemyss Bay ferry, a few of stayed on for a quick visit to the Ascog Fernery - a quick visit which turned into a long one with tea and snacks - before taking the northern ferry back to Colintraive - see second extra.
