Blue Jay.

We had a wonderful July 4th complete with spectacular fireworks later in the evening.

Except for the fact that we are still in the midst of a heat wave! Today's high was only 94° but the humidity hangs on.  After tomorrow this heat is supposed to break and we should have some nicer weather .... for a day or two!

Because of the heat forecast I put out my July 4th prop early and hoped for the best. But because it was so hot the squirrels weren't that active today.  As a result it took me almost all day and several moves of the prop to get some decent pictures.

The Blue Jays were the most accommodating .... so this one gets the top spot.  I have added a collage in the extras with some squirrels and a juvenile Common Grackle.
