Weeping Window

A rest day due after the excesses of Friday and Saturday . Mr P never saw the poppies at the Tower of London so I took him to see some at Carlisle Castle before they become a permanent display in the Imperial War Museum in London. The other touring set (the Wave) will come to rest at the Imperial War Museum in Manchester. I've never been to Carlisle before and was interested to see the distinctive old cotton mill tower (extra) that was built to take the smoke away from Carlisle and when it was built, in 1836, it was the tallest tower in the country and the 8th tallest world
