The other side . . .

Yesterday our garden club visited Kierfiold Garden and today the West Mainland gardeners from Stromness came and visited us!  We knew they were coming, I had found three other folk who were happy to have them visit their gardens,  but it was a bit of a surprise when seven cars appeared in the village!

They were lovely people - gardeners generally are! - happy to exchange ideas, suggestions and tips and chat about the challenges and rewards of gardening in Orkney.  Nice to see several old friends amongst them too.  Thankfully, due to the weather this summer, the plants are still standing and looking pretty good at the moment, and a little bit of rain overnight helped things look a bit perkier than they had been too!
