MONO MONDAY : GLUTTONY
Gluttony : over-indulgence in anything, most often associated with food.
I didn’t take part in the Mono Monday challenge last Monday, because I was having a wonderful Blipmeet in Sutton Coldfield, so hadn’t looked at the subject for the month. However, when I saw that the challenge for Mono Monday during July was centred around the seven sins and virtues, set by si_b, I happened to be sitting in the garden late on Sunday evening, and wondered whatever I could use to illustrate one of these.
I took a couple of shots, but being mindful of the ethos of Blip, knew it had to be done actually ON the day, so put my alarm on to wake me earlier than usual.
When I got downstairs just after 6.30 a.m. and felt the rush of slightly cooler air coming in through the open conservatory door, I realised that Mr. HCB had probably been out there for sometime and I was right, so after a quick chat with him, set about taking my photograph before the sun had risen above the tree tops.
Here is my take for the challenge on one of the sins - gluttony - and I wonder if anyone can see the link? I will put it in a P.S. at the end in case you want to waste spend some time thinking about it.
Of course, gluttony isn’t only about food - how often do we go out and buy something we don’t really need to cheer ourselves up?
“We buy things we don't need
with money we don't have
to impress people we don't like.”
Dave Ramsey
P.S. This is a potbelly chiminea and I found this definition of potbelly :
Pot belly - deposits of body fat localised around the abdomen;
Potbelly stove - a type of cast iron wood burning stove.
