The Frenchfield Pool.

The club was based at Frenchfield in the river Eamont. In 1971 it was relocated to the new indoor swimming baths. This is where most of my generation would learn to swim. The river had a dam so the water was much deeper and there was wooden huts to change in. The collage shows the scene now. It is a private house and has just been enlarged after the floods. You can still see the concrete sides with the hand rails, but the diving board has been washed away. So I have included 2 old photos of how it used to be.
