A walk in Epping Forest

This morning, Zeus09smum and I took only our second walk in Epping Forest this year.  Our successive holidays, followed by Z's  emergency knee surgery and lengthy recovery period have made walking at all, let alone dog walking impossible for a long time.  Now Zeus is back home and the walking has recommenced, albeit for short distances only.
This shot is taken at High Beach, not far from the conservation centre.  This pond certainly wasn't suitable for Zeus to swim as it was covered with a thick lime green plant of some type.  My extra shows a close up and one of the beautiful deep pink water lilies that are growing so well there.
The heatwave continues and this  afternoon all the family were round to cool off in the garden and paddling pool.
